In the Venn Diagram of my romantic history, there is such little overlap between the people who have treated me with kindness and respect and the people to whom I’ve given myself wholly, unquestioningly, unrepentantly. I no longer think this is coincidence or bad luck on my part. It’s time to make some changes. Tonight I said no and in this tiny little segment of my tiny little life it was monumental.
